Carbachol-induced oscillations in [Ca2+]i
Carbachol-induced oscillations in [Ca2+]i
in a single contracted guinea-pig ilium
myocyte.They are visualised by x-y confocal imaging of fluo-3
fluorescence. The fluorescence images were
acquired 0.55 s apart. Carbachol (3 mM) was
applied to the cell after the second image was
captured. The myocytes were loaded with the
fluorescent Ca2+-sensitive indicator fluo-3 prior
to imaging. Note the spatial non-uniformities in
the [Ca2+]i rise during each oscillation.
